Form Melva Locke, Husum, Washington. This is the larger of two irons. Very pretty iron and expressive. well hammered out and finished by semi modern means. Originals hand forged then welded to handle. A mathced pair, this one was for cattle. From blacksmith in Mansfield, Washington. An excellent brand to show your love for another person. Use with other irons to spell something unique. See examples.

This is a "Rail" used to made the "Rattle Box" iron (sku 100-3039). The user would have to burn this iron 4 times to make the Rattle Box. Given to me by user from ranch established in 1890. The brand came from Texas. This type of iron could also be used to change a brand. Usually this type of iron would be illegal to own. It is very versitle and can be used to make or enhance any brand or design.

A very famous and old brand of the Southwest. Originated in Texas for 100 years then used in Washington by L. R. Wood of Tonasket. Spread covered range east of Loomis. Hand forged and old. A very popular brand. Seems everyone wants a rocking chair imprint.

Part of a spread from the original Harder clan. Largest spread in Washington state. An old old brand given to us by son Max Harder. They ran about 8,000 head between Sprague & Ritzville. Use this brand with other numbers to create a date like "1872" or "1831, etc.

An odd brand. A little too big for practicle use. Origin unknown. This is an awsome looking brand. One of the circles is slightly bent. Some say if you turn it on a corner it looks like a baseball infield with the four circles representing the bases and the cross representing the pitchers mound.

A rare built iron from Texas run into Washington in the 1870's. Came in on a wagon with a herd of cows. A wonderfully hand made branding iron. Loose single rivet to allow flat even burn.

A well known old spread. A large sheep and cattle ranch of Smithson Co., Ellensburg, Washington. Second oldest spread and registered brand in Washington. An excellent looking brand. Any sailor would want this for his ship or mantle.
